The Adventure Dogs
Zoe and Rocket are two very different dogs who love the outdoors. Whether we’re hiking or camping, they’re always right by my side. Actually Rocket’s usually about 10 yds ahead of us.
Zoe is a Labrador Retriever, born in February 2023. She is a bit smaller than most Labs, but she more than makes up for it withy her friendly, outgoing personality.
Zoe is adventurous, always eager to explore, splash through streams, and greet the world with curiosity and excitement.
Zoe came from reputable breeder when she was two months old, and she quickly adapted to the outdoor lifestyle. She’s outgoing, friendly, and always ready for the next adventure.
Rocket is a Belgian Malinois and joined us under very different circumstances. Born in March 2025, he’s large for his breed and full of energy, with an intense focus that makes him a natural explorer and protector.
His life began with hardship, a friend rescued him after being mistreated and abandoned on the street. At first I was hesitant to adopt him not knowing much about the breed and having some stereotypical misconceptions. Since then, Rocket has grown into a loyal and driven companion who thrives on activity and focus.
Together, Zoe and Rocket balance each other perfectly. Zoe brings a playful, easygoing energy, while Rocket adds determination and drive. They’re my adventure partners, my motivation to explore, and a constant reminder of the joy found in the great outdoors.
Why An Outback
I use 2020 Subaru Outback for camping because, for me, it’s the perfect balance between practicality, comfort, and capability. It’s an affordable vehicle to own and maintain. As a daily driver, it’s smooth, comfortable and efficient, offering decent gas mileage that makes both short commutes and long road trips less expensive.
The Outback’s all-wheel-drive system easily handles every road I’ve been on, from gravel forest roads that lead to a campgrounds or rutted trails to a dispersed camping site. Inside there’s plenty of space for all my camping and dog gear, frig and battery, and two dogs without feeling cramped. And when those long drives stretch into the late night, the seats and ride quality make the journey enjoyable.
For me, my Subaru Outback is the ideal cross of economy, reliability, and ruggedness for what I need for life on and off road.
